SINGING STITCHES

Longarm Quilting Studio

Singing Stitches Longarm Quilting Studio is a professional longarm quilt finishing business located in rural Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We are open by appointment only. Our quilting studio is home to two Gammill Classic Plus longarm machines with the Intelliquilter computerized quilting system. We use a combination of computerized and hand-guided techniques to give your quilt a personal and unique look. The machine's frame is twelve feet wide, which makes it possible for us to quilt anything from a small wall hanging up to a quilt measuring 112" wide, and any length. We offer a full range of services and a quick turn-around time on edge to edge designs.

"I see quilting as a marriage of beauty and function - a visually and texturally pleasing work of art. I love to quilt because if offers me a creative outlet, it calms me, and it provides me with great satisfaction."

-Suzan

Suzan has been longarm quilting since 2008. Since becoming a longarm quilter she has won several awards in local quilt shows, a "Teacher's Award" ribbon from Pam Clarke at MQX East, "Best Longarm Quilting" twice from the Carolina Longarm Association, "Best Longarm Quilting" at the Gate City Quilt Guild, "Best Longarm Quilting" at the Vintage View Quilt Show, "Best Longarm Quilting" at the Durham Orange Quilt Guild, "Best Machine Quilting" at the Cobblestone Quilt Show in South Carolina, and the "Capital Quilters Award of Excellence in Machine Quilting" at the NC State Fair in both 2015 and 2016. She is responsible for most of the custom quilting that comes out of our studio and for some of the edge-to-edge quilting.  She is a long-time member of the Durham-Orange Quilter's Guild.

Mark has been quilting since 2012.  He won his first ribbon at the Vintage View Quilt Show in Raleigh in March 2014. Mark has also won "Best Machine Quilting" at SVQA Harvest Quilt and Fiber Art Show in California and several ribbons for duet quilts in local quilt shows.  Mark takes care of most of the edge-to-edge quilting, and is singularly responsible for our ability to quickly return your non-custom quilt.  Mark is a very experienced longarm quilter.  He is a member of the Durham Orange Quilter's Guild.

Why the Name Singing Stitches?

I've been asked many times if I sing, what I sing, etc. Remember the song "Wild Thing", recorded by The Troggs in the 60's? Well, it's more like that - quilting makes my heart sing! And now - my Intelliquilter sings too!
